Baby

“Hey you gonna babysit tonight?” I asked my best friend, Jessica.
In her own warped little way, she thought I meant literally sit on them. Shaking her head, she decided not to say anything about it.
“Ummm…” She thought, before handing me the morning newspaper.
“What is this?” I asked. I took the paper from her hands and started scanning it. I found an ad circled in red.
“I’m gonna call them, and see if they still need someone,” She whispered.
I sat at my kitchen table, while she rested her arm on the back of the couch watching me carefully.
My eyes quickly read the article.

Wanted: Babysitter for a 3-year old boy and a 18-month old baby girl. Kids are well behaved, and good mannered. Nice neighborhood. Parents need a night out on their anniversary. Please call if you are interested, with references preferable but not necessary. Must be 16 or older, can pick up if needed. $20 an hour.
Call 555-9825

“Cool, if you want…I can go with you…I don’t think my parents will mind,” I suggested.
She nodded her head in approval before grabbing our phone.
“Wow twenty bucks an hour! That’s a nice chunk of change,” I added, rereading the article.
“I know,” Jessica replied, sitting back with the phone to her ear.
Ten minutes later, Jessica hung up the phone and had a huge smile plastered on her face.
“I got the job, and guess what?” She laughed.
“What?” I wondered.
“They said it’s okay if you come over too! But that’s not the best part…they have a big ass swimming pool and a big screen TV. They told me to bring my swim suit and we could go for a dip when they kids are asleep…if we take the baby monitor out there with us of course. Cool huh?” Jessica said excitedly.
“Sweet!” I hollered.
“We have to be over there in an hour, though…better get crackin’,” Jessica said, looking at her watch.
“Okay, where’s it at?” I had to ask.
She laid the piece of paper down in front of me and I read ’254 North Rotterham Drive’.
“Dude Ritzville!” I couldn’t believe it, we were going to the rich, classy part of town.
“But the good thing is, they aren’t snobs. If they were, hell they’d have like a nanny with one to spare,” Jessica sighed, thinking of all the cash they must have.
We both snapped out of and ran to my room to find something to wear. And the next thing I remember is driving down the interstate in my car, Jessica in the passenger seat where she usually is.
“Man I love being 18!” She screamed over the music.
I nodded, keeping my head in beat with the sound escaping from the speakers.
I turned down a side road, hoping to miss traffic.
“How old are these people any way?” I asked.
“I told to the guy, he’s only 23,” Jessica announced.
“Hmmm maybe he’s a hottie. Not to old,” I remarked.
“Yeah but he’s married…has two kids,” Jessica huffed.
“So?!” I replied, pulling into the driveway.
We had to go through a security gate before we could continue, finally we made it to the front door.
“Knock,” I told my friend.
She stepped forward and right when she was about to knock on the big green door…it opened.
“Hey,” A tall, blonde headed guy greeted.
I knew who he was, and just about fell off the step I was standing on.
“You guys must be the sitters,” He added shortly after.
Jessica nodded her head, and stepped inside.
“Come on, I won’t bite,” He laughed, ushering me in.
“By the way this is my wife Mindy and our two children…Katherine and William,” The extremely hot guy introduced.
He spun back around and smiled, that half smile I had dreamed about so many times.
“And I’m Nick.”
