To Nick Carter,
I know that you probably won’t even read this, if I’m lucky enough to even have it opened. I just wanted to say that as a fan, I’m really sorry to see the things that have happened to you. From the supposed love of a girlfriend to the death of family members, I don’t know how you stay on top. You always seem to shine and smile at every possible opportunity. And I just wanted you to know that whatever you do, I’m behind you a 100%. I would like to think that I’m one of those few fans that can understand and relate even in my own warped little way. I had a boyfriend that treated me like shit, and I’m sorry to see it happen to someone else. I got out, I got help and then I moved on. I hope you find the peace within yourself to get that courage and make it stop. You’re a strong person, we (the fans) have seen it, we have seen you grow to the good looking man that you are. I may be three years younger, but I feel a whole hell of a lot older. The things in my past as well as yours have helped shape us to the people we are today and I just want you to know that you are not alone. I wrote you this poem, and I hope the meaning goes to heart.
From the love a fan,

Title: I Want
By: MeI want Nick to be happy,
to live the days of freedom,
the chance to gain respect,
and the idea of being one.I want Nick to be treated right,
like any other human being,
open thoughts about anything,
and the heart to absorb it all.I want Nick to do what he does best,
make people laugh and smile,
singing with his heart’s desire,
and just being the good ole guy he always is.I want Nick to trust,
people who have come before him,
those determined to be his friends,
and those just glancing his direction.I want Nick to know,
that he is not alone,
he’s not the only one,
and he has the love and friendship in my heart.I want Nick to realize,
I could go on,
People aren’t who they say,
and he should always look for a brighter day.But over all
I want Nick to show,
It doesn’t matter what I say,
Or what he has become,
only what he believes and loves will carry him through.
I sealed the envelope and stuffed it inside the mailbox, silently praying that it makes it to a desperate young man the whole world is watching. I walked back inside the house, my mother leaving the evening news on the television set.
“Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, still depressed! No one knows what to do, the whole world missing out on his performance. Tonight’s top story!”
I heard it blare all the way into the kitchen. Nearly dropping my glass I had just grabbed, I knew it was reasons like this that Nick felt worse and worse. If people just got out of his business and left him alone about it.
My mind raged, thinking about how he must feel.
I went to bed that night, still confused but eager to help…not knowing how.
It was a few weeks later when I was busy in my room working on another project when I heard my mother’s voice.
“Honey, there is someone out on the lawn for you!” My mother called up the stairs to me.
“Okay mom,” I replied. I figured it was either my best friend or my next door neighbor.
I flew down the stairs and out the front door. My feet suddenly stuck like wet cement when I saw Nick Carter, the gorgeous blonde one, standing there shaking ever so slightly on my front lawn.
“I got your letter,” He said, smiling awkwardly at me.

I love this little piece!
It’s really cool, and very deep, as well as creative. I like the Backstreet Boys; they’re kind of cool!
